Obituary for James Lawrence Bach

James Lawrence Bach, 64, formerly of Clinton, passed away May 28, 2011 in his home in The Villages, Florida.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lemke Funeral Home following burial in St. Mary's cemetery.
Jim was born November 7, 1946 in Clinton, the son of Lawrence Joseph Bach and Dorothy Faye Thomas Bach.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary's High School, where he served on the staff of the BluGold student paper and began his lifelong love of English. He also lettered in football as a place kicker and in track in the mile and half-mile. He graduated from the University of Southern Illinois with a bachelor's degree in English and was an avid reader and writer.
He lived in Bolinas, California, Groton, Connecticut, and Watch Hill, Rhode Island before retiring to Florida. He worked in sales and marketing for a number of organizations and was particularly fond of real estate development.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his step-father Robert F. Lonergan.

Survivors include his sons Matthew Bach of Providence, Rhode Island and Justin Bach of San Diego, California and his brother, David (Margaret) Bach of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and his sister, Kristin (James) Kautz of Vancouver, WA, three nieces and a nephew, Eleanor and Emily Bach of Baton Rouge, and Anna (Steven) Powers and Gareth Kautz of Vancouver.
Memorials may be left to Prince of Peace Parish.
