Obituary for Jacqueline "Jackie" Bailey
Jacqueline “Jackie” Bailey, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, (formerly of Clinton) passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Honoring her wishes cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of her life taking place on Saturday, February 5, from 3pm to 5pm at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. Burial will take place this Spring at Springdale Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Jackie was born December 3, 1961, in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of Edwin and Hazel (Honaker) Bailey.
Jackie was a past member of Bethel AME Church in Clinton. She worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Eagle Point Nursing Home and Rehab Center.
Jackie enjoyed playing bingo and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed watching her TV shows — Chicago PD and the Price is Right. Above all Jackie loved her children and her grandchildren very much. She will be greatly missed.
Jackie is survived by her children — Antonio (Andrea Scheper) Bailey of Clinton, Ebony (Steven) Shelton of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Xavier Bailey of Iowa City, IA; eight grandchildren — Antonio Jr., Mulijah, Tahlicia, Treveon, Kiara, Tavian, Olivia and Xavier Jr.; two great-grandchildren — Nesiah and Alani and one on the way; three sisters — Mildred (Gram) Durrant of England, Pameila Bailey of Los Angeles, CA, and Gale (Franklin) Harris of Ports Smith, OH; one brother — Tony Bailey of North Carolina; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother — Kenneth Bailey.
