Homer "Jess" Roberts, 73, of Camanche, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 10, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jess was born November 13, 1943 in Dustin, Oklahoma, the son of Homer and Sally (Graham) Roberts. Jess was a graduate of Dustin High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. Jess was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Timmer on October 8, 1966 in Preston, Iowa.
Jess retired from DuPont, as a machinist, after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing.
Jess is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of Camanche, IA; one daughter Charlott (Byron Tate Sr.) Glowacki of Clinton, IA; one grandson – Giddeon Glowacki of Clinton, IA; one granddaughter – Gabrielle Glowacki of Chicago, IL; one great-grandson – Kayden Glowacki at home.
Preceding Jess in death were his parents, one son – Mitchell, two brothers and two sisters.
