Obituary for Henry Francis Arkenberg

Henry Francis Arkenberg, 75, of Clinton died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m, Monday, March 17th 2014, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home North Chapel 2304 North 2nd Street, Clinton.
Henry was born March 2, 1939 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Marie (Teshak) Arkenberg.
Henry married Sandra Ann Vilmont on August 4, 1962 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Henry joined the Army Reserves from 1961-1966.
He worked at Alcoa for 35 years, working as a furnace operator.
He was a cub scout leader, loved gardening, golfing, fishing and spending time with
family. Henry enjoyed participating in Knights of Columbus activities.
Henry is survived by his wife Sandra, children, James (Loan) of Cedar Rapids, Ia; Nancy (John) Seitz of Clinton;
David Arkenberg and significant other (Bridget Graham) of Racine, WI; grandchildren: Emily, Michael, Samuel Arkenberg,
Kelly Ann Seitz, and Kara Cecil, sisters, Donna and Richard Peterson of Miles, Ia; Ann Scott of CO;
brother Paul and Sue Arkenberg of Bellevue, Ia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his parents, sister, Katherine and step-mother, Emma.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
