Helen M. Kaster, 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at The Alverno. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Helen was born May 28, 1936 in Moravia, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Reva (Commer) DuVall. She was a 1954 graduate of Moravia High School. Helen was united in marriage to Veril Kaster on June 15, 1956 in Moravia, Iowa. Veril passed away on May 8th, 2013.
Helen worked at the Clinton Garment factory, retiring after ten years. She later worked at Clinton High School as a cook, as well as other jobs, for 10+ years.
Helen loved the outdoors especially golfing, camping and traveling. She also enjoyed country dancing with her husband. She enjoyed reading and playing cards and bingo with her lady friends. Above all she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Helen is survived by two sons- Timothy (Mary) Kaster of Clinton, IA. and Ted (Cynthia) Kaster of Clinton, IA.; two granddaughters - Katelyn and Kimberly Kaster and one grandson - Billy Kaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Veril, and one sister.
