Obituary for Harvey Sullivan

Harvey Francis Sullivan, 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno with his loving family at his side on June 8th, 2013. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, June 13th, at 10:30 a.m. at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Church. A visitation will occur on Wednesday, June 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Church, a vigil service will take place at 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Harvey was born March 5th, 1934 in Rural Delmar, Iowa (at home) the son of Francis and Malinda (Schmidt) Sullivan. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Mary Carber on July 13th, 1957 at St. Mary's Church in Bryant, Iowa.
Harvey worked for Lamson & Sessions (the former Carlon) for 30 years in the Maintenance Dept. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church, the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. He was also a lifetime member of the Amvets - a former post commander & district Commander and State Officer and member of the color guard. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW.
Harvey loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and woodworking. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, White Sox fan and the Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Harvey is survived by wife his Mary Sullivan, two daughters - Catherine (Roger) Cox of Clinton, IA., Madonna Berry of Clinton, IA.; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nine sisters - Donna (Albert) Block of Richland Center, WI., Doris Rickertsen of Clinton, Marietta (Clarence) Diedrich of Gooselake, Kathleen Knight of Milton, WI., Agnes (Clive) Ziemet of Spragueville, Audrey (David) Schmidt of Baldwin, IA., Pat (Richard) Robinson of Gooselake, Linda Aldis of Preston, Macel (Don) Diedrich of Low Moor; one brother - Robert (Sharon) Sullivan of Charlotte; one sister in-law Mary Sullivan of Preston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Doug, one great granddaughter - Emma, one brother - Ferris
Memorials may be directed to the family.
