Obituary for Gloria Jean Butler

Gloria Jean Butler, 86, of Camanche, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. A Funeral Mass occurs at 11 am on Saturday, December 7 at the Church of the Visitation, Camanche. A visitation occurs one-hour prior from 10 am until the service hour at the Church. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Gloria was born on January 8, 1933 in Clear Lake, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Greone (Kessler) Timmerman. She was united in marriage to Robert Butler in Eagle Grove, Iowa on May 13, 1955.

Gloria worked at Waldorf, Inc. for 25 years.

Gloria and Robert were founding members of the Church of the Visitation. She was also a member of the AFL-CIO and a member of the United Paper Workers Union.

Gloria had a love for needle work and stitching. She loved tending to her flower garden and watching her Hummingbird feeders for activity. She also enjoyed working puzzles and watching America’s Got Talent and the Voice and cooking family and friends. She dearly loved her dog Shaggy. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by her husband – Robert of Camanche; her children – Angie (Doug) Reich of Oxford, CT, Darcia (Frank) Streets of Clinton, Deb Butler of Charlotte, NC and Dennis Butler in Knoxville, TN; 3 grandchildren – Melissa (Joe) McNamara of Clinton, Collin Reich of Oxford, CT and Erin Reich of Ames, IA; 2 great-grandchildren – Ayden and Ellie; siblings – Ted , Dale and Beverly of Eagle Grove, IA.

Preceding Gloria in death are her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
