Obituary for Glenna Kay Frett (Reynolds-Hoenicke)

Glenna Kay Frett (Reynolds/Hoenicke), 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at her Park Vista home on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 following a courageous battle with dementia. Funeral services occur at 12 pm on Saturday, October 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs one-hour prior from 11 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Glenna was born on February 28, 1943 in Decker Chapel, Indiana the daughter of Purvis “Pete” and Mabel Reynolds.

She married Terry Hoenicke in 1962 and they moved to Goose Lake, Iowa.

Glenna owned Glenna’s Country Curl in Goose Lake for many years while bringing up her three children. She loved socializing with her many customers. Later on, she worked as a bartender and also worked at ADM.

Glenna then married Art Frett in 1990 gaining 4 stepsons, with whom she loved.

Glenna loved to party, play cards, and was known for her homemade Peppermint. She also loved to travel taking: serval cruises, trips to Mexico, as well as touring many different states. Glenna taught several water classes at the YWCA. She always loved music, family outings, and playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed attending and volunteering at Chancy Lutheran Church and later attending River Church in Clinton, Iowa.

Glenna is survived by her two ex-husbands, children- Lori Peterson and Stacey (Colleen) Hoenicke, four stepsons- Dave, Jeff, Don and Greg Frett, daughter-in-law- Lauren Hoenicke, brothers - Purvis (LeRoy) and Sheldon (Virginia) Reynolds, sister- Rita (John) Lewis, as well as, 25 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son- Todd Hoenicke, parents, brother- Gene and sister- Dixie.
