Obituary for Gladys V. Biermann

Gladys V. Biermann, 88 of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive - west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gladys was born October 22, 1925 in Albany, Illinois the daughter of Floyd and Edna (Anglese) Eads. She was united in marriage to Robert F. Biermann on March 2, 1946 in Clinton, Iowa. They were married 66 years until his death in February 2013.
Gladys worked at the General Electric Plant in Morrison, Illinois, as an inspector, were she retired after 20+ years.
Gladys was a member of the Clinton Woman's Club, she volunteered as a driver/deliver for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the YWCA. It was noted that Gladys didn't like cleaning she loved cleaning. She enjoyed bowling with her husband on the Senior league in town and loved played cards especially during card club. She loved to travel with her husband and had many great memories, especially her trips to Ireland. At the YWCA she enjoyed swimming. Above all Gladys loved her grandchildren and her entire family very much and will be sadly missed.
Gladys is survived by two daughters - Judith (Daniel) Manes of Circleville, OH., Donna (Larry) Hamilton of Clinton, IA; Four grandchildren - Kristine Jacobs of Santa Maria, CA., Ron Hagen of Clinton, IA., Daniel Manes of Circleville, OH., Chana Biermann of Clinton, IA.; seven great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and one sister - Vada Baker of Clinton, IA.
Preceding Gladys in death were her parents, her husband Robert, three brothers and one sister.
Memorials made should be directed to the Shriners or Mercy Hospice.
