Obituary for George Lloyd Kramer Jr.

George Lloyd Kramer Jr., 72, of Clinton, Iowa passed away from COVID19 at MercyOne Medical Center on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, with a private family burial taking place at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

George Jr. was born October 3, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa the son of George Sr. and Mary (Frank) Kramer. George Sr. and Mary would later divorce and George Jr. would be raised by James L. Smith - who loved him dearly.

George Jr. was united in marriage to Pam Simons on November 1, 1994 in Clinton.

Early on, George Jr. worked as a meat processor at IBP until health issues forced him into early retirement and a life-long disability.

He loved the outdoors especially fishing and was an avid duck hunter; he also enjoyed the many dogs he had throughout his life. He loved going to the track and watching drag racing. He liked socializing with friends and family. Above all, he loved his family very much especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

George Jr. is survived by his father – George Kramer Sr of Clinton; wife Pam of Clinton; six children – Les Wade of WI, Carl John (Mindy) Wade of TN, George Lloyd Kramer III of Stanwood, IA, Christine (Pat) Garrison of Clinton, Sheila (Mathew Snodgrass) Simons of Clinton, Cordell Kramer of Clinton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters – Debra Smith of Clinton and Teresa (Greg) Thomson of Clinton; two brothers – Robert (Brenda) Kramer of Rock Island, IL and James (Melody) Smith of Clinton; with several half and step brothers and sisters; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Smith, his father James Smith; one sister – Linda Kramer and several aunts and uncles.
