George Sanchez Duran, 61 of Camanche, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a visitation occurring from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Honoring George's love of sports the family requests that you wear casual or your favorite sporting attire. A celebration of his life takes place at 11 am on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Clysar Pavilion. Burial occurs at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

George was born June 29, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Antonio and Esther (Rosales) Duran.

George was united in marriage to Sheri Otten on June 23, 2000 in Clinton, Iowa.

George worked as a Extrusion Operator at Clysar, Clinton facility.

George enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing and watching sports, especially, his beloved Celtics, Cubs, Cowboys and Hawkeyes. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful father and will be incredibly missed.

George is survived by his wife Sheri of Camanche, his children – Desiree (Erin) Dial-Duran of Clinton, Nathan Duran of Camanche, Kristianna (Nelson) Cassiberry of Clinton, Emily (Antony) Gladwyn-Nash of Cedar Rapids, Haley Duran of Camanche, Crystal Duran of Colorado; eleven grandchildren; one sister – Esther (Jim) Vogel of Camanche; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother – Fernando.
