Obituary for Finis Drake
Finis Drake, 77, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away peacefully at MercyOne Medical Center, Clinton, on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Honoring his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with a Memorial Service taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Finis was born on November 21, 1943 in Brownsville, Tennessee, the son of Bun and Hattie (Jones) Drake.
In the 1980’s, Finis was a member of the Fraternal Organization of Mason’s achieving a 3rd Degree status. For over 20+ years, he was the proud owner and operator of “Finis Auto Body” in Clinton.
Finis enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He also enjoyed selling items at Flee Markets with his wife for nearly 20 years. Above all, he loved his family very much, his main priority was always his grandchildren - he will be greatly missed.
Finis is survived by his wife- Vicky of Clinton; three daughters- Sharon (Albert) Turner of Jacksonville, NC, Jennifer Worrels of FL, and Tonya Templeton of Clinton; three sons- Christopher Cunningham of Des Moines, IA, Jerry Drake of Clinton, and Buddy Templeton of Clinton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister- Willie Mae Anderson of Clinton; with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, one daughter- Angela “Sweet Pea” Drake, one sister, four brothers, and one brother-in-law.
