Fern V. Randall, 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center - North on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Cremation rites have been accorded with a funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21 at Lemke Funeral Homes - North Chapel (2304 N. Second Street). The family invites friends to gather at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date.
Fern was born September 10, 1936 in Clinton County, the daughter of Fritz and Viola (Bush) Bartels. She was a 1954 graduate of Elvira High School and would further her education by receiving an associate's degree from Clinton Business College.
Fern was united in marriage to Herbert Randall on October 12, 1984 in Elvira, Iowa.
Fern worked as a telephone operator until that service closed, she continued working at various Kwik Star gas/convenience stores until retiring.
She enjoyed music, occasionally playing the organ and also enjoyed sewing. Fern loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Fern is survived by three brothers - Earl Bartels of Clinton, IA, Donald (Sandi) Bartels of Clinton, IA and Frederick Bartels of Bryant, IA; one sister- Ellen Behrens of Fort Calhoun, NE, with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Fern in death were her parents, her husband and one brother
