Obituary for Eugene "Boney" Proud

Eugene "Boney" Proud, 83, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home, following a short battle with cancer, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a Memorial Service taking place at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 26, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Boney was born February 9, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Everett and Augusta (Bark) Proud. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Following High School, he served his Country in the United States Army.
Boney worked as a skilled Carpenter and will be remembered as a "jack of all trades".
Boney just loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, visiting State Parks or simply sitting down at Clinton's River Front. He also enjoyed "yard-sailing", going to auctions and playing cribbage. He had dogs all of his life and loved his fur babies. He loved his family and friends very much and will be sadly missed.
Boney is survived by his godson Mark Porter of Clinton, IA; 3 brothers – Anthony, Rodney and Frank; cousins – David (Brenda) Kreucher, Betsy Miller, Cindy Newell, Kelly Dodge and Mary Dodge all of Clinton, IA; with several nieces, nephews, special friend Jack Young of Clinton IA, as well as, other friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his parents and 2 sisters – Shirley and Almetta.
