Obituary for Etta "Marie" Scott

Etta “Marie” Scott, 93, of Folletts, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Funeral services take place at 12 pm on Friday, September 10 at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr). A visitation occurs one hour prior, from 11 am until the service hour, at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Marie was born March 2, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Vetal and Jesse (Potter) Taylor. She attended Lyon’s grade School. Marie was united in marriage to Dale Scott on January 1, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa.

She was a past member of the AMVETS (husband Dale was a WWII veteran) and Moose Club.

Always helping to provide for her family, Marie worked at Swifts, Dairy Pak, Champion and concluded her career - not too long ago - managing the Camanche Senior Citizen Meal Site.

Marie was an avid Bingo player and in particular enjoyed playing at the Low Moor Community Center. Marie and Dale loved traveling to watch NASCAR races, especially the Daytona race. They loved Daytona so much, they would ultimately spend the winter months there. Above all, Marie loved all of her children and grandchildren very much and loved teaching the grandchildren about life’s many lessons she had experienced.

Marie is survived by her children – Robert (Alexis) Scott of Circleville, Ohio, Carol (Gary) Kettler of Clinton, Donna (Richard) Campie of Camanche, Gloria Andrews of Folletts; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren – with two on the way; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, one son, two infant daughters, one infant great-great-granddaughter, three sisters and four brothers.
