Obituary for Elmer R. Englehorn

Elmer Robert Englehorn, 85, of Clinton, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 in his home. A celebration of Life Gathering will be Monday , June 20, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Amvets Club, Clinton. Lemke Funeral Homes has been assisting the family.
Elmer was born May 21, 1926 in Chicago, IL., the son of Edward Robert and Dora (Ottilino) Englehorn. Elmer married Virginia DeVine January 30, 1948 in Chicago, IL., she preceded him in death.
Elmer served in the U.S. Army 67th Tank Battalion from November 15, 1945 to December 2, 1946. Elmer had various occupations. He worked many years as a truck mechanic, worked for the City of Clinton with the street department , and he owned and operated the Fulton Harbor.
Elmer was a former member of The Amvets Post #28. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter in law, Bobbi Fallis of Oklahoma, 1 granddaughter, Michelle Beltran, of Oklahoma, 3 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, 2 sisters, Cathy Smith, of Palatine, IL., Linda Andersen, of Palatine, IL., Half- Brother, Charlie Hottinger, of Colorado, and special friend, Alice Issen, of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, wife Virginia, son Robert and 1 granddaughter.
Memorials may be left to Mercy Hospice, Clinton.
