Ella E. Smith, age 96, a resident of Clinton, Iowa for 54 years, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Walworth, WI. She was born October 9, 1916 in Winfred, SD, the daughter of John and Dora Knutson. She married Clarence Alvin Smith on June 5, 1938 in Madison, SD. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1994.
Ella was a receptionist for Dr. Ed Carey for many years, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lyceum, past president and member of the PTA, and a Cub Scout den mother.
She is survived by her three sons Ronald (Annelle) of Rockledge, FL, David (Pamela) of Lake Geneva, WI and Kenneth (Cheryl) of Georgetown, TX; four grandchildren Shelly (Doug) Drablos, Sarah (Doug) Timmer, Brenda (Erhan) Cokal, and Steven (Julie) Smith and seven great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
A service for Ella with family and friends was held at Lemke Funeral Homes, 2610 Manufacturing Dr. on Saturday April 20, at 11a.m. Burial will be private.
