Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Grossman

Elizabeth "Betty" E. Grossman, 74, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on December 10th, 2013. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 13th at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive -west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12th, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Springdale Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born August 11th, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Mae (Hammond) Kennedy. She was a 1958 graduate of Elvira High School. Betty was united in marriage to Robert Grossman on May 21st, 1960 at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Clinton, Iowa.
Betty was employed with the Clinton Garment Factory and the A.C. Nielsen Company for 10+ years, however she enjoyed being a homemaker the most.
Betty loved the outdoors, especially camping and bird watching. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and bowling. Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and was an excellent cook!
Betty is survived by her husband Robert; two daughters- Kristine Grossman of Clinton, IA, Annette (Duane) Schmidt of Clinton, IA; two sons - Dan (Paige) Grossman of Cedar Rapids, IA., James (Melissa) Grossman of Chicago, IL.; six grandchildren - Sarah, Jace, Nikki, Kara, Jacqui, Josh; two great grandchildren - Nevaeh and Jacobi; one sister - Janice of Low Moor, IA., and many nieces nephews, brother and sister in-laws, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother - Larry Kennedy.
Memorials made will be directed to the wishes of the family.
