Elfrieda Lucille Hensel, 96, of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, September 24th, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus. A private graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 27th, at 10:00 a. m. at Springdale Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Elfrieda was born on May 21st, 1915 in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Caroline (Lange) Spohn. She married Eric Hensel in Miles, Iowa on October 12th, 1940.
Elfrieda was a homemaker and a former member of the First Congregational Church. She was a great mother, loved to cook and enjoyed playing cards.
Elfrieda is survived by 1 daughter – Janice (Mike) Kruger of Houston, Texas, 3 sons- Thomas (Judith) Hensel of Sabula, Iowa, George (Barbara) Hensel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Richard Hensel of Davenport, Iowa, 1 daughter in-law – Joanne Hensel of Dallas, Texas and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and her best friend Edna Manemann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Eric, 2 grandsons and 2 brothers.
