Obituary for Elayne Evelynn Anderson
Elayne Evelynn Anderson, 87, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Monday, December 10, 2018. Funeral services will occur at 11 am on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 12 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, December 16, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Elayne was born December 9, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Sikie (Andersen) Hass. She was united in marriage to Harold G. Anderson on June 30, 1950 in Clinton.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elayne started her career at Nielsen’s Clearing House, working there for many years and later she worked at Collis, Inc. Following her husband’s passing in 1980, she retired with her sole focus on raising and caring for her children.
Elayne enjoyed singing, especially during Karaoke and playing cards, Solitaire was her favorite. She also enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends, especially at cookouts. She loved her fur-babies – her dogs that she had all of her life. Above all she loved her family very much especially her grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
Elayne is survived by her children – Dale (Judith) Anderson, Eugene Anderson, Dwaine Anderson, Carol Boutwell, Ellen (Mark) Jones, Carl Anderson, Timothy (Tina) Anderson all of Clinton and Keith (Donna) Anderson of Springfield, Il; with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister – Janet (Rick) Bacunawa of NC; sister in-law Marie Hass of Miles, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Elayne in death were her parents, her husband, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
