Edward Lee Kimmer, 71, of Clinton passed away Friday, March 16th, at his residence. His family will honor his wish not to have a service. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Edward was born November 29th, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Alice (Lussier) Kimmer. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School, Clinton.
Edward was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1961 to 1967.
Edward worked for AT&T, as a technician, for many years until his retirement.
He loved bird watching, coin collecting and collecting Army memorabilia. He was computer savvy and enjoyed listening to music.
Edward is survived by one daughter - Jennifer (Johnny) Williams of Mesquite, TX.; one son - Greg (Mikael-Minor) Kimmer of Princeton, TX.; four grand children - Baylee, Ben, Breyan, Emma; two sisters - Madonna Hinricksen of Coeur d'Alene, ID., Bonnie (Joel) Sadler of Charlotte, NC.; three brothers - Ray (Mary) Kauper of Edgerton, WI., Wes (Arlene) Kimmer of Clinton IA, Bob (Kathy) Kimmer of Camanche, IA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
