Obituary for Dorothy Tripp (Huebbe)
Dorothy May Tripp, 93, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Funeral services will occur at 2 pm on Thursday, March 3, at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. A visitation occurs one hour prior, from 1 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Calvin Lietzen, Rob Brashaw, Dennis Nuss, Levi Nuss, Robert Huebbe and Skeeter Bearce. Burial occurs at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born March 22, 1928 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of William and Bessie (Hoover) Huebbe.
She was united in marriage to Leroy Tripp on August 26, 1945, in Camanche, Iowa.
Dorothy worked many years at the Clinton Garment Factory and also at Iowa Eastern Central Train. She also spent time in the child care field and worked at the YWCA - Women’s Crisis Center.
Dorothy and her husband Leroy were two of the first members and part of the building team of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche.
Dorothy enjoyed travelling to different destinations in the Unites States. She loved to cook and was well-known for her homemade bread and noodles. She enjoyed reading and loved knitting and crocheting. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by one son — Bill (Denise) Tripp of Camanche; one daughter — JoAnn of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren — Marty Lathrop, Luke Lathrop, Nikki Nuss and Lisa Tripp; great-grandchildren Lexi Nuss, Trevor Tripp and Brian Tripp; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother — Robert Huebbe and two grandsons — Michael and Josh.
