Dorothy Lorriane Bader, 93, of Dubuque, Iowa (formerly of Clinton) passed away at Sunset Park Place, Dubuque, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremations rites have been accorded with burial at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born January 16, 1928, in Mott, North Dakota, the daughter of Emil and Martha (Mehrer) Pfeifle. She was united in marriage to Alvin Bader on May 29, 1949 in Venturia, North Dakota.
Early on Dorothy worked at Jane Lamb Hospital and later became a homemaker after her children were born.
Dorothy enjoyed playing Gin Rummy and working word search games. She also enjoyed taking organized bus trips with friends to tri-state Casino’s. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter - Debra (Jim Frederick) Wright of Dubuque; five grandchildren – Diana (Matt) Fergurson of Dubuque, Sarah Wright of Cannon City, CO, Jeremy Bader of Clinton, Zack Bader of Clinton and Polly (James) Williams of Clinton; three great-grandchildren – Madison, Kyler and Rylee all of Canon City, Co.; one daughter in-law – Brenda Bader; three sisters – Arlene Job of Clinton, Ardyce Adams of Elvira and Jean Mehrer of Marion; one brother – Don (Pat) Pfeifle of DeWitt, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Alvin and one son – Jerry.
