Donna Mae Shockey, 88, of Camanche, Iowa passed away peacefully at Mercy Living Center – North on Friday, February 2, 2018. Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of her life taking place from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 5, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive) – please dress casually. Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Donna was born April 7, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Verna (Guigon) McNamara. She was united in marriage to Donald Shockey on August 20, 1947 in Clinton.
Donna was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, 50+ years, for Shockey Truck Line. She also enjoyed going to the Clinton LumberKings baseball games and loved going to her grandchildren's sports events. She was an avid reader. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Donna is survived by one daughter – Linda (Steve) Runge of Camanche, IA; two sons – Steven Shockey of Clinton, IA and Joe (Sandy Thompson) Shockey of Clinton, IA; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister – Hazel Foster of Camanche, IA; her special friend – Kenya Bernard of Camanche, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Donna in death were her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, 1 brother and 2 half-sisters.
