Donna Lee Kirkpatrick, 81, of Richton Park, Illinois, passed away in hospice care in Chicago Heights, Illinois on Monday, March 13, 2017. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive).
A visitation will occur one hour prior to the Memorial service from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Donna was born July 12, 1935 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the daughter of Russell and Bessie Mitchell.
Donna was raised in Persia, Iowa, however from the age of 18 she has lived in the Chicago suburbs. Donna loved to dance and laugh. Her greatest passion was telling jokes – she loved to make people laugh. She loved her family very much and her grandchildren meant the world to her – her greatest source of pride. She was a very generous and caring person, she will be remembered forever and dearly missed.
Donna is survived by two daughters – Cheryl Hooks of Albuquerque, NM and Cindy (Brian) Kilburg of Clinton, IA; two sons – Rick Hooks of Richton Park, IL and Don (Jean) Kirkpatrick Jr. of Manteno, IL; four grandsons; four granddaughters and one great-grandaughter. Preceding Donna in death were her parents, one sister and four brothers.
