Donald Edward Mason, 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Donald was born January 18, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Floyd and Violet "Viola" (Palmer) Mason. He was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for 2 years.
For many years Donald worked at Mercy Medical Center – North in housekeeping and also the maintenance department.
Donald enjoyed buying cars and trucks also enjoyed collecting model cars and trucks. He loved his Siamese cats. Although he kept to himself, he enjoyed socializing with family and friends and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
Donald is survived by one sister – Shirley Kohl of Clinton, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Preceding Donald in death were his parents, one brother and one sister.
