Obituary for Donald Fullerton

Donald A. Fullerton, 80, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Friday, August 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, at Lemke Funeral Homes - North Chapel (2304 North Second Street). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery.
Donald was born December 15, 1934 in Rochester, New York , the son of Dean and June Fullerton. Don graduated in 1952 from West High School in Rochester, NY and also attended the Rochester Business Institute, majoring in accounting. He married Nancy Belson on May 15, 1954 - she passed away in 2001. He then married Judith Maier in 2002 - Judith passed away in 2012.
Donald served in the New York State National Guard from 1953 to 1962. Don moved to Jacksonville, Illinois with Kordite Company in 1962. He was then transferred to Frankfort, Illinois in 1967. He went to work for Chemplex in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in 1968 and was transferred to the Clinton plant in 1981. He retired from Lyondell in 1996.
Don was a member of the Frankfort, Illinois Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years, acquiring the rank of Captain prior to leaving in 1981. Don was ardent St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed politics and debating his political views with others.
Don is survived by his son - Michael Fullerton of Clinton, IA.; one daughter - Jolene (Earl) Curtis of DeKalb, Il.; three grandchildren - Karissa Fullerton, Erin and Benjamin Curtis with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two brothers - William and John and one sister, Norma.
