Donald “Don” M. Barnes, 84, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Funeral services will take place at 1 pm Tuesday, January 28, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Don was born June 25, 1935 in Tabor, Iowa the son of Friedman and Nellie (Isaac) Barnes. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Don was united in marriage to Marilyn Bain on December 31, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Don was an off-set printing pressman his entire 40+ year career.

Don was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved to socialize with family and friends. Don was also a true outdoorsman – enjoying anything outdoors, including: boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling and working in the yard. He enjoyed working on his many trucks he had over the years and painting them. He also loved all the fur-baby’s he had over the years – especially “Baby” - his Pekingese and Poodle dog. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.

Don is survived by his daughters - Lisa (Mike) Borrelli of Fulton, Il and Tycenia “Ty” (Aaron) Andersen of Clinton; three grandchildren – Seth (Eva Apple) and Kelly Andersen and Sarah Aurand all of Clinton; three great-grandchildren – Akota and Asher Andersen and Cade Devon; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife – Marilyn, son – Keith and several brothers and sisters.
