Obituary for David Peart

David William Peart passed on from this world on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011. Funeral service will be Monday, November 14th, at 10:30 a.m. at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace church. Burial will take place at Springdale cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation and celebration of life will be Sunday, November 13th, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting with the arrangements.
He was born November 20, 1928 in Hazel Green, WI, where he was an Eagle Scout and his high school Valedictorian. David earned his Mining Engineer degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology before serving in the US Army at Fort Ord near San Francisco, where he married Mary Monica Bergener on August 20, 1951.

David brought his family to Clinton, IA in 1965 where he rose from the ranks of engineers to become the Vice President of Operations for Standard Brands, Clinton Corn. Before retiring, David became President of the McCoy Group in SW Wisconsin and then built his own Sani-Wash/Total Truck businesses in Iowa, Indiana and south Chicago. David and Mary enjoyed family, many friends and wintering at Big Pine Key, FL. After Mary's passing in 1999, David returned to be near his children in Clinton. On September 30th, 2007 David married again to Ai Ling Liang. In his later days, David volunteered his service helping others locally with the friends of Bill W.
David's favorite activities included spending time with his "kids", leading business challenges, raising dogs, hunting, fishing, telling stories, traveling, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.
David is survived by his loving wife Ai Ling, daughters and sons; Deborah (Jerome) Richter; William (Nancy) Peart; Pamela (Craig Hamilton) Baenziger; James (Sharen) Peart; Monica (Kenyon) Clarke; Daniel (Sue Droste) Peart; Mary Elizabeth (Mark) Woods; and Ya Lin (Sophia), Tao Lin (Peach), Jia Lin (Jessica) and Xiao Long Lin (Kong), plus 15 grand-children and 19 great-grand-children and his dog (wei wei).
David was preceded by his parents William and Dorothy Peart and his wife of 48 years, Mary Monica.
