Obituary for Darwin Gene "Darby" Malone Jr.
Darwin Gene “Darby” Malone Jr., 55, of Camanche, Iowa passed away unexpectantly at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with funeral services taking place at 1 pm on Saturday, July 18, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Darwin was born September 3, 1964 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Darwin Sr. and Marilyn (Jones) Malone. Following High School, Darwin entered the United States Navy, serving for 10 years as an E5 jet engine mechanic.
Darwin was united in marriage to Frances Edwards on September 3, 1999 in Morrison, Illinois.
Darwin worked for the Chicago Northwestern, Union Pacific and currently as an Engineer for the Canadian Pacific Railroad.
Darwin enjoyed cooking, especially grilling outside. He also enjoyed photography. Darwin loved music, a self-taught Guitar, Piano and Bass guitar player - back in the 70’s he played in a local band.
Darwin is survived by his wife Frances; children – Darwin (Nikki) Malone III of Davenport IA, Chris (Amber) Kane of Bettendorf IA, Eva (Alex) Binnie of Clinton IA and Aaron Kane of Durant IA; grandchildren - Anna Malone, Kelly Vawter, Adrien Kane, Aliza Binnie, and Harriet Kane; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother – Michael and mother in-law Cindy Jones.
