Obituary for Darlene J. Annear

Darlene Jane Annear, 75, of Clinton Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on May 5, 2014. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - just west of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Darlene was born August 4, 1938 in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of Henry Hansen and Evelyn (Johnson) Hansen. She was a graduate of Wyoming Iowa high school. She received her specialized associates degree in Accounting from Globe University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Darlene was united in marriage to Russell Annear on October 10 1959 in Clinton, Iowa; Russell passed away on November 28, 2011.
Darlene utilized her college accounting degree working for Climax, Nielsen's and finally settling in at the Moose Lodge as manager and accountant for 25 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Darlene loved gardening and spent countless hours tending to her many flowers and plants in her garden, truly a labor of love. She also enjoyed walking by the river and later in life enjoyed drives by the river. She was also a avid Chicago Bears and Bulls fan and enjoyed watching their games. Above all she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Darlene is survived by three sons - Randy (Maureen) Annear of Clinton, IA., Rod Annear of Morrison, IL., Ron (Pam) Annear of Clinton, IA.; three grandchildren - Sierra, Karlee and Blake; one great granddaughter Marlee; two sisters - Pat (John) Burroughs of Davenport, IA., Dianne Tew of Martelle, IA., two brothers - Richard (Betty) Hansen of Massillon, IA., Donald (Martha) Hansen, Heartland, MI.
Preceding Darlene in death were her parents, her husband Russell, and brother in-law Charles Tew.
