Obituary for Daniel Lee "Danny" Galant

Daniel “Danny” Lee Galant, Jr. 29, of Sterling, Illinois (formerly of Clinton) passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Funeral services take place at 2 pm on Sunday, July 10, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs 5 hours prior from 9 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial immediately follows at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements. Honoring Danny’s love of sports, please dress in casual or sports attire.

Danny was born July 19, 1992 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Daniel and Lori (Nippers) Galant. He was a 2010 graduate of Clinton High School.

Danny and the love of his life Victorina Oseguera were recently engaged and share a son Rayden Ace Galant as well as helping Victorina raise Ella and Hayes who were very special to Danny. Danny also shared a son, Tyson Lee Galant with Kelsey Jones in which he had a special friendship with and remained close to over their co-parenting years together.

Danny had a deep faith in Jesus Christ that he shared with members of the Calvary Church in Moline, Illinois as well as members of the One-eighty Program in Davenport, Iowa.

Danny was machine operator, employed with Mazel & Company, in Sterling, Illinois. He loved his job and considered Mazel employees his "work family".

Danny loved watching the Chicago Cubs where he attended several games and watched together with his family. He also enjoyed playing softball in the Erickson Center Sunday night Upper Division for his team sponsored by “Slops/Dueys” with his brother Pj and step-dad Dan. He shared a special bond with his sister Sami, his brother Pj, his brother Kyle and his cousins Jason and Jenny. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing, Chicago Bears football, Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bulls Basketball games. He loved to cook, watching movies, playing bags, bowling, swimming and enjoyed weekend gatherings with friends and family. He loved taking his sons Tyson and Rayden places and buying them shoes. He loved the family dog Millie and two cats – Gaylord and Oscar. Above all he loved his family very much, especially his children. He will be incredibly missed.

Danny is survived by his parents - Lori (Dan) Puckett of Camanche and Dan (Rene) Galant of Clinton; the love of his life - Victorina Oseguera; his children - Tyson and Rayden, Ella and Hayes; one sister - Samantha Puckett of Camanche and two brothers - PJ Puckett of Clinton and Kyle Puckett of Lancaster CA; his maternal grandparents - Ramona Lohberg and James Nippers both of Clinton; paternal grandparents - Judy (Bob) Judd of Cape Canaveral FL and Vernon (Grace) Galant of Clinton; with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his great uncle - Gary Galant; one second cousin - Natalie Rubel.
