Obituary for Dakota Cyrus West

Dakota Cyrus West, 27, of Trinity, Florida (formerly of Clinton) succumbed from injuries sustained in a bicycle/vehicle accident in Trinity on Thursday, September 3, 2020. Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday September 26 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial occurs at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Dakota was born on March 13, 1993 in Oregon City, Oregon the son of Glen and Carol (Padulla) West. Following high school, he went on to work as a Landscaper. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton, Iowa.

Dakota loved playing his guitar, dancing, making videos, and playing “Magic” cards with his friends. He always made people laugh, especially when they were down - he hated seeing people sad. He enjoyed being outdoor and doing landscaping. Dakota enjoyed playing “Yu-Gi-Oh!” with his friends and family. He loved going to see his favorite band “Down 24” and singing “Footloose” with them.

Dakota is survived by two moms- Carol West (Jim Feldpausch) of Clinton IA. – his biological Mom- Sharon (Martin) Escutia of Salem, OR., three brothers- Jonny Escutia (Lily Romero), Miguel Escutia, and Martin Escutia Jr., one sister- Selena Escutia, all of Salem OR., two sons- Ayden Armstrong of Clinton, and Dean Winchester Powell of Kentucky, four nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his dog “Dixie” that he affectionately called his daughter. He will be sadly missed by his family and all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandfather.
