Obituary for D. June Campbell

D. June Campbell, 76, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Monday, December 8, 2014. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
June was born June 18, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Milo M. and Dorothea (Gunn) Clayton. She was a 1956 graduate of Albia High School in Albia, Iowa.

June worked as an executive administrative assistant for both Bob Evans and later Jack Dermody at the Clinton Herald. In total June's career at the Clinton Herald would span 28 years.
June loved to go dancing and enjoyed bowling for many years at both the Plaza and the Recreational Lanes in Clinton. However, her main focus was always centered on her family, she loved her children dearly. She was a wonderful mother and will be sadly missed.
June is survived by one daughter - Sandy (Larry) Reaver of Sterling, IL.; two sons - Bob (Sue) Doss of Clive, IA. and Ken (Julie) Doss of Clinton, IA.; with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister - Delores DeLong of Sterling, IL.; two brothers - Bill (Bonnie) Clayton of IL. and Austin Clayton of IA. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alverno or the Alzheimer's Association.
