Obituary for Cynthia Ann Williams (Lee)

Cynthia Ann Williams, 73, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at University of Iowa Hospitals on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Funeral services occur at 11 am on Saturday, December 3, at That Church, formerly the Chancy Lutheran Church (2315 Wallace St, in Clinton). A visitation takes place the evening before on Friday, December 2, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.) An additional visitation occurs two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial takes place at 10am on Monday, December 5, at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Cynthia Ann Lee was born November 30, 1948 to Evelyn (Barbour) and Leandra Lee in Dayton, Ohio.
Cynthia attended Jackson Elementary School and moved on to Nettie Lee Roth High School where she enjoyed being on the Fencing Team. Cynthia also enjoyed Judo Martial Arts. She graduated from Clinton Job Corps Center. Cynthia later graduated from Sauk Valley College and received her Medical Technician degree. Cynthia became a Medical Laboratory Technician. She worked at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton and a few other hospitals in the state of Iowa. Cynthia also worked in Maquoketa at Jackson County Regional Health Center, where she retired from in July of 2022.

Cynthia loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and helping everyone.

Cynthia leaves to mourn her husband — Leroy Williams; children — Shelley DeAnn Sampson-Clemons (Knoxville, Tennessee), Thomas C. Sampson (Las Vegas, Nevada), Karyn Jetter (Knoxville, Tennessee), Tara (Wilfred Mutodza) Jetter (Zimbabwe, Africa), Nicolette Holloway (Clinton, Iowa), Tamra Jetter (Plainsfield, Illinois), Tasha Jetter Winston, Carmon Jetter, and Leroy Williams III; grandchildren — Jalynn Clemons, Jayden Clemons, Cassie Sampson, Sean Oglesby, Alaysia Jetter, Jairus Jetter, Sanaiya Mutodza, Nahla Mutodza, Rachel Jetter, Jessica Lane, William Jetter, Kevin Hart, Jasmine Winston, Marquis Winston, Michaela Armstrong, Alyssa Winston, Shidona Jetter, Sabrina Singleton, Divonte Singleton, Dezire, Shariah, Leroy III, and Micaiah Williams; great-grandchildren; one sister — Karen Jetter (Clinton, Iowa), two brothers — Frank (Sherry) Johnson (Fortworth, Texas), and Harold Johnson (Dayton, Ohio); a host of cousins, nieces and nephews — two whom she helped raise — Aniya and Jakobe Worrels; with great-nieces; great-nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother — Evelyn Holt; father — Leandra Lee; and brother — Stanley Johnson.
