Obituary for Clarence Eugene Langy

Clarence Eugene Langy, 90, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 16th, 2011 at the Premier Skilled Nursing Center in Beloit, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20th, at 1:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes- South Chapel. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the Funeral service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lemke Funeral Homes-South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Clarence was born December 27th, 1920 in Floyd, Iowa, the son of Gertrude Langy. Clarence enlisted in the Navy on November 1942. He was an Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class. Clarence was stationed on the Air Craft Carrier U.S.S. Kadashan Bay, which protected the Pacific Islands. On March 11th, 1944 Clarence married Rosetta Hayes (of Princeton, Iowa) in San Diego, California.
Clarence owned his own body shop and upon retiring he enjoyed being a gunsmith. He also enjoyed fishing with Rosie and building, from small up to 3/4 scale, model airplanes. Clarence also attended the Oshkosh, Wisconsin air show for many years.
Survivors include: 2 sons – Wayne (Betty) Langy of Rockford, Illinois, Daniel (Mary Lou) Bunker-Langy of Lena, Illinois, 1 daughter – Teresa Nelson-Langy of Beloit, Wisconsin, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by: his Mother, his wife, and great granddaughter Tammy.
