Cinda “Cindy” Lee Claussen, 73, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center, on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Honoring her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Her Life will take place from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, April 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Cindy was born on September 24, 1948 in Clinton, the daughter of Dale and Rose (San Angelo) Flack. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Claussen in 1974.
Cindy was a retail agent for several local clothing stores and eventually concluded her career at Promotion Fulfillment Center (PFC) in Camanche, Iowa.
Cindy enjoyed cooking and baking and enjoyed spending time crocheting. She also enjoyed shopping and browsing local garage sales. Cindy will be remembered as a second mother to a lot of high school kids growing up in South Clinton and she took pride in preparing them home cooked meals. She loved her pets, especially her fur-baby’s - Gizz and Cara Kitty. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Cindy is survived by her husband — Bill of Clinton; her children — Peggy Van Horn of Miles, IA, Bill Hass of Clinton, Bob (Michelle) Hass of Oxford Junction, IA, Richard Streat of Des Moines, IA, Renee Streat, of Clinton, Joe Claussen of Fulton, IL, and Dawn (Mark) Howe of Maroa, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son-in-law — Dave Van Horn, Sr.
