Chris "Speedy" Reedy, 55, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Funeral services will be take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. A visitation will occur from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kelsey "worm" Carder, Kevin, Dawn, Josh and Hope-Marie Murphy, Bill Taplin, Dan Fisher, Mark Cavanaugh, Frank Stoddard, Les Schofield, Creighton Cooper, Randy Miller, Steve Kupfer, Laura Schroeder, Dale Assenmacher, Jeff Iberg, Dwayne Geronzin, Clay Behrens, Bryan Faur, Dean Keegan, Samantha Stepp, Todd Milroy, Mike Howard, Jared Winter and Alyssa Swamberger. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Chris was born October 13, 1960 in Clinton, Iowa the son of George and Fern (Poorman) Reedy. Chris was a graduate of Clinton High School. He was united in marriage to Pam Carder on October 25, 1980 in Clinton, Iowa.
He was baptized a Christian and followed Christian values. At a young age Chris began working for Clinton Corn and continued working for ADM for the next 37 years primarily in the "Sugar House". Chris and a few of his ADM buddies started the "Bad Boys Key Club" gym, which several of his ADM cohorts utilized.
Simply said, Chris' main priority in life was his family. He loved his wife, children, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren more than anything. Most activities he did involved his family whether it was hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, shooting guns, or simply going for walks in the woods on his land. He enjoyed traveling as a family to visit his boys.
Chris is survived by his wife - Pam; daughter - Paula Miller; sons - Chris (Lyn) Reedy and Chad (Greta) Reedy; five grandchildren - Reilly, CJ, Paisley, Gracie and Noah; two sisters - Kelly (Rick) Miller and Georgetta (Bob) Van Vleet; four brothers - Joe (Sharon) Reedy, Ben Reedy, Chuck (Barb) Reedy and Rick Reedy; father in-law - Keith Carder; in-laws - Cathy Reedy, Linda Reedy, Loretta (Phil) Coppess, Brenda (Everette) O'Shogay, Jim Carder, Kelly (AJ) Carder; God Child - Kelsey "worm" Carder and his faithful companion and best friend - his Lab, "Jackson".
Preceding Chris in death were his parents, brothers - George, Fred and Jim Reedy; Mother in-law - Shirley Carder and three brother in-laws.
