Obituary for Cherie Lynn Shepard

Cherie Lynn Shepard, 70, of Clinton, Iowa (formerly of Fulton, IL), passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July, 12, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A visitation will occur one-hour prior from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service with burial at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Cherie was born March 14, 1947 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Patricia Albrecht and John Stunden.
Cherie was united in marriage to Donald Shepard on January 10, 1976 in Fulton, Illinois – Donald passed away in 2009.
Cherie began her career at Drives, in Fulton, she then worked at Metform, in Savanna, where she would retire after 15+ years. Later she would return to work as a bartender at River City Brewing Pub in Clinton.
Cherie enjoyed games of chance, whether it was at the Casino, betting on Horse races or a friendly game of Bingo. She also enjoyed the outdoors especially camping and fishing. She loved family get togethers. She loved her fur baby – Elzie – her Dachshund. She loved socializing with her family and friends. Above all, she loved her entire family very much and will be greatly missed.
Cherie is survived by her four daughters - Lori Smith of Morrison, Il, Krista (David) Gibson of Clinton, IA, Patricia Brown of Clinton, IA, Cherie (Scott) Kohl of Clinton, IA; 15 wonderful grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers - her twin brother – Terry (Glenda) Stunden of NE and Kenny (Marsha) Kradle of Chadwick Il; 3 sisters – Jan (Bob) Fiene of Chicago, IL, Karen (Diane) Kradle of Dixon, IL and Kari (Homer) Salmon of Sterling, Il; her BFF – Mickey Stage of Fulton, IL with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Cherie in death were her parents and her husband.
