Obituary for Chelly Mae Wing (Clark)
Chelly Mae Wing, 89, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at Eagle Point Heath Care Center on Monday, January 2, 2023. Funeral services occur at 11 am on Friday, January 6, at the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. A visitation takes place 1 hour prior, from 10 am until the service hour at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Chelly was born January 28, 1933 in Laurinburg, North Carolina, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Williamson) Clark.
Chelly was united in marriage to Dean Dale Wing on April 18, 1954 in Laurinburg, North Carolina. They were together 58 years until his passing in 2013.
Chelly was a long-time member of the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church.
Chelly took great pride in being a homemaker and loved to decorate and rearrange the house. Living on the farm she was fond of all animals especially the many dogs and cats they had over the years. Chelly loved the outdoors and tending to her flower garden. She was the family historian and proficient record keeper. Chelly enjoyed going back to North Carolina and visiting family and going to Myrtle Beach. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.
Chelly is survived by her daughter in-law — Lynn Wing of Bettendorf; her grandchildren — Douglas Wing of Clinton, Derek Wing of Bettendorf and Sarah (Alain) Holaday of East Peoria, IL; one great-grandson — Kasdyn; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband — Dean, one son — Jim Wing and two brothers — Farley and Eugene Clark.
