Charlotte Ann Howard, 63, of Clinton Iowa passed away at the Alverno on April 16, 2014. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - just west of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service with private burial at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Charlotte was born August 1, 1950 in El Dorado, Arkansas the daughter of Nathanial and Lucille (Dorsey) Howard. She was a graduate of El Dorado High School. Charlotte worked at GE in Morrison, Illinois for over 5 years.
Charlotte was stricken with multiple sclerosis for over 40 years but never once complained about the suffering she endured nor did she want to burden anyone with her special needs.
Charlotte enjoyed playing bingo at the Nursing home, she loved to socialize with the nursing home staff and enjoyed visiting with her friends once a month at the women's club meetings. She was very particular about being dressed nicely each and every day. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, very much and will be deeply missed.

Charlotte is survived by her mother - Lucille Dykes of Camanche, IA.; one son - Derrick (Bobbi) Howard of Clinton, IA.; one brother - Greg Dykes of Camanche, IA.; four grandchildren - Ty Hatheway, Nicholas Hatheway, Derrick Howard, Jr., Makayla Howard; two aunts - Barbara Cannon of Clinton, IA., Billie Jean Lee of Gary, IN., and many cousins.
Preceding Charlotte in death were her Father Nathanial Howard, her step-father John Dykes and one brother Gary "Sonny" Howard.
