Obituary for Charles "Skeeter" Herrity

Charles "Skeeter" Herrity Jr., 78, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, at The Silver Dollar Saloon in Clinton, Iowa.
Charles was born September 9, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Charles Sr. and Marion (Holm) Herrity. He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1962.
Skeeter worked as a machinist for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and also worked for local roofing contractors.
Skeeter was a member of the Eagles Club in Clinton. He was a faithful Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Skeeter enjoyed meeting his friends every morning at the Silver Dollar Saloon for early morning chats.
Skeeter is survived by two sons - Kenneth and Kevin Herrity of California; one grandson - Michael Herrity and one sister - Caryl Miller of Clinton, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
