Chancy L. Scribner, 81, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Tuesday December 10, 2019. Honoring his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, January 11 at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Private burial takes place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Chancy was born January 9, 1938 in Fulton, Illinois the son of Clyde and Louise (Jones) Scribner. Chancy was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Simpkins on September 10, 1977 in Clinton, Iowa.
Chancy retired, as a Foreman, at Dairy Pak after 40+ years. Following retirement, he worked at R & R Sports for many additional years.
Chancy was a true outdoorsman – he loved fishing, hunting and making fishing lures. He loved getting out on the river in his boat. He also enjoyed traveling. He loved music and playing in his band – “White Lightning”. He was a handy man always fixing or remodeling a house and he enjoyed air painting motorcycle gas tanks and riding his motorcycle. Above all, he loved his entire family very much and will be sadly missed.
Chancy is survived by his wife Judy of Clinton; children - Audrey Scribner of San Diego, CA, Teresa Mangusing, Julie Carroll, Lisa (Todd) Determan, Kristen (Milton) Adams all of Clinton; with 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; with special friend – Jim Crigger of Clinton and many other friends.
Preceding Chancy in death are his parents, half-brother – Jack and 2 grandsons.
