Obituary for Carol Irene Lawson (Shaw)

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Carol Irene Shaw Lawson passed away after a short illness. She was born on March 26, 1933, to Harold A. and Hazle M. (Lockett) Shaw. She grew up in Clinton and graduated from Our Lady of Angels Academy as the class Valedictorian. Shortly after graduation, she married John Mead who passed away suddenly. In 1954, she married Arthur Glenmore Razor. Three children were born to this union- Dawn, Sharon and Art. Arthur passed away in 1967. Later that year she married William Everett Lawson. She gained two stepsons, Jerry, and Danny Lawson. William Everett passed away in 2005.

Survivors include Dawn (Michael Comley) Lawson and her children son Zachary (Gretchen) Spittler and their son, Kevin. Son Andrew Spittler. Son Jordan (Tessa Andersen) Spittler and their son, Damian. Sharon (Gary Bartels) Lawson and her children Michael (Chelsea) Mangian and their son, Cameron. Her daughter, Amelia Mangian (Alice Simms). Art Lawson and his daughter, Marlena Cooper, and her children Brady Newsom and, Hannah Cooper. Jerry (Patricia Duvall-Lawson) Lawson and their children, daughter Jennifer Lawson (Mark) Gibson and their children Hannah Gibson, Joel Mielke, Sarah (Jake) Denning, and their children Amelia and, West. Joshua Gibson and Shannon Mrozek. Daughter Mia Lawson (Nick) Sartell and their children Danny Lawson, Ingrid Garret, Peter Smith Combs, Paige (Lee) Kennedy and their children Payton and, Logan. Daughter Dr. Shannon Lawson Klingman (Dr. Evan Griffiths) and their children Bennett Klingman, Julia, Jonah, and Mary Griffiths. Son Matthew (Dr. Ciara O’Donnell Saoirse) Lawson. Son Seth (Brittany Briggs) Lawson, and their children Isabelle and, Everett. Son Jesse Lawson. Many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her 10 siblings: Harold Jr., David (Gale), Robert and, Paul, Frances Bahnsen, Richard (Pete), Mary Nelson, Gary (Butch), Margaret Shaw, and Jack Raffles, a cousin who lived with them and was killed in WWII. Two great-granddaughters: Lillie James Lawson and Amy Griffiths also preceded her in death.

Cremation rites have been accorded. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral.
