Obituary for Camella "Candy" Nave

Camella 'Candy' J. Nave, 84, of Fulton, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 20, 2015. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at Lemke Funeral Homes - North Chapel (2304 North Second Street). Philip Stel, Pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, IL. will be presiding over the service. A visitation will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes - North Chapel. Burial will take place at St. Irenaeus Cemetery.
Candy was born January 8, 1931 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Christopher and Anna Snodgrass. Candy was a graduate of Elvira High School. Immediately following high school Candy joined the United Stated Army Nurse Corps, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Following her service in the U.S. Army Candy transitioned her career to manufacturing, working at the G.E. Plant in Morrison, Illinois for seventeen years, as well as, being a wonderful mother and housewife. Candy was united in marriage to Robert Edward Nave on April 21, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa.
Candy was a member of the Eagles Club and the AMVETS. She loved playing games of chance and enjoyed spending time at the Casino and playing bingo. She loved her fur babies, her pugs. Candy loved the outdoors, tending to her gardens and taking care of the birds that frequented her yard, especially her pet Doves. She enjoyed socializing, particularly at Pizza Ranch with her best friend Geraldine. Above all, she loved her entire family very much and will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Candy is survived by three daughters - Suzanne (Loren) Van Kampen, Margaret (James) Rose all of Fulton, IL., Annette Nave of Thomson, IL.; one daughter in-law -Becky Nave of Savanna, IL.; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one step great grandchild; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and the many friends she had met in her life.
Preceding Candy in death were her parents, her husband and one son - Robert Nave Jr.
