Billy Roy Stroud, 62, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at Mercy Hospital - North Campus and into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Honoring his wishes, cremations rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service takes place at 10 am on Saturday, December 1, at the Journey Church. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Billy was born August 2, 1956 in Texas the son of Joe and Virginia (Hall) Stroud. He was united in marriage to Linda Wagemester on November 3, 1990 in Clinton. Billy was a longtime member of the Journey Church (formerly the Evangelical Free Church) in Clinton. He was a father to his fur-babies - 2 yellow Labs - Otis & Gaby and 2 cats – Buster & Buddy. He Loved them unconditionally and they Loved him. He started working in 1974 at Champion Packaging - Waldorf, Rock Tenn, and Finally WestRock. He worked as a dedicated and very hard working/ loyal employee for 44 years. He was loved respected by his fellow co-workers – were he developed special friendships. He wanted to especially thank those who reached out, and were there for him though his difficult times. Some were like brothers and sisters and Rose Duax, who was very special and like family to him.

He enjoyed tennis, golf and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Texas A&M Aggies. He also enjoyed photography, target shooting, wood working, and everything Electronics; and he loved jeeps! Billy was the kindest and most humble man. He would never mention what he had done and never boasted and was always willing to help someone. He would make and build projects for People. He loved to share his Wood Working Shop and Tools. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. It didn't matter how long it had been since he saw you, nothing changed. You were always and forever his Friend.

Billy is survived by his wife Linda, brother Lynn (Liz) Stroud, nephew Shane Stroud, niece Vicki Stroud; brother-in Law - Steve (Shelly) McGarry, nephew Jason McGarry and Andy McGarry, niece Melinda (Steve) Grau; family members Pam and Jean Ann (Tim) McPherson, Michael (Joan) Wagemester, Diane (Chris) Huecksteadt, Alan (Adrienne) Wagemester; Mother in-law - Joyce Hart and father in-law - David Wagemester; with many cousins and many friends.

Preceding Billy in death were his father Joe Stroud, Virginia T Henricksen; Step-Father Wayne Henricksen; sisters - Kathy McGarry and Vicki Stroud and very best and dear friend Gary Huizenga.
