Obituary for Betty Jean Andresen (Faur)

Betty Jean Andresen, 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno on Monday, December 9, 2019. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a Memorial Service occurring at 12 pm on Friday, December 13 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 10 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Betty was born May 18, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Mary (Wolfe) Faur. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Angel’s High School, Clinton.

Betty was united in marriage to John Andresen on February 17, 1962 at St. Irenaeus Church.

Betty was a Long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, now Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge, the Clinton Women’s Club and the Clinton Historical Society.

Throughout her life, Betty worked at Fidelity Life, Nielsen’s Clearing House, PFC, Prudential Insurance and concluded her career at the Clinton Community Schools.

Betty loved watching classic movies, going to concerts with her husband and loved attending her children and grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed shopping and acquiring various collectibles. Above all, she loved her family and grandchildren very much.

Betty is survived by her husband John of Clinton, IA; Bradley Andresen of Clinton, IA, Michael (Anmarie) Andresen of Lake Villa, IL, Brent (Jill) Andresen of Preston, IA, Craig Andresen of Algonquin, Il and Michelle Bower of Rapids City, Il; five grandchildren – Haley (Ross), Dalcy, Craiton, Clare and Will; 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings – Cathy (Dick) James, Evie (Greg) Weis, Gerald Faur with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Betty in death are her parents one sister – Mary Ellen and son-in-law Mark Bower.
