Barbara Jean White, 72 of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of her life and graveside services scheduled for a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Barbara was born on June 16, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ruth (St. Clair) White.

Barbara was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of ’69. She attended the Clinton Academy of Cosmetology. Barbara went on to start her career as an English as a second language teachers assistant in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Barbara enjoyed tending to her garden and loved getting out on her deck and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed playing cards, decorating and was an avid Cubs fan. She also enjoyed reading. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.

Barbara is survived her son — Nathan Marcy of Maquoketa, IA; sisters — Sharon Petersen of Punta Gorda, FL, and Linda (Jim) Dooley of Chenoa, IL; brothers — Bill (Mary Ann) White of Clinton and Jeff (Vicki) White of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.
