Barbara Jane Powers, 60, of Davenport, Iowa passed away at home on Monday, January 8, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Barbara was born August 9, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Rosemary (Reyner) Powers. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended the University of Iowa.
Barbara was a billing specialist for the Genesis Health System of the Quad Cities. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a past President of Nu Epsilon Chapter.
Barbara loved her cats, even calling herself the "cat woman". Opting not to travel abroad, she loved travelling through the State of Iowa and discovering new parks, places of interest and meeting new friends. She enjoyed walking and then stopping to watch and feed the ducks at the Vander Veer Botanical Park. Above all, she loved her family very much especially her nieces and nephews.
Barbara is survived by her brother David Powers of Iowa City, IA; two sisters – Linda (Dale) Hardison of Delmar, IA and Susan (Nathan) Beadel of Davenport, IA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, her sister Mary and her twin sister Beverly.
