Armelia Harlston, 78 of Clinton, died Tuesday morning, October 23, 2012, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A Memorial Service is being planned for 12:30p.m., Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Lemke Funeral Homes North Chapel, 2304 North 2nd St., Visitation will be start at 10:30a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at the Rock Island Arsenal following the service. Lemke Funeral Homes is caring for arrangements.
Armelia was born September 5, 1934, in Clarksdale, Mississippi , to Sterling and Hatti (Black) Brown. Armelia graduated from High School in Clarksdale. On September 20, 1958, Armelia Brown was united in marriage to Ben Harlston in New Mexico, he passed away in 1999. Armelia enjoyed cooking, sewing, and being a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Logan of Clinton; Beverly Williams of Clinton; five sons, Pertis (Deb) Brown of Davenport; Ben Harlston III, of Clinton; Kenyatta Harlston of Anamosa, Ia; Daune Harlston of Nebraska; Eric Harlston of Anamosa, Ia; one sister Shirley Brown of Clinton; three brothers, Sterling (Betty) Brown of Las Vegas; Leandrew Brown of Clarksdale, MS; Mac (Dorothy) Brown of Clarksdale, MS; 24 grandchildren, 27 great – grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Armelia in death were her parents, husband, her son Matthew, 3 sisters and 1 brother,
